Abstract The role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) has evolved significantly in recent years, necessitating a more strategic approach to building relationships and education. In the current therapeutic ecosystem, characterized by increasing complexity, rapid advancements, and multifaceted stakeholder dynamics, MSLs must go beyond scientific expertise to deliver value. This paper explores the need for a toolkit of strategic thinking skills to enhance the effectiveness of MSLs, both internally within their organizations and externally with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and other stakeholders.
